A Brief Overview of Eritrea
Located on the Red Sea, local customs and music in the country have heavily been influenced by the country's ethnic background. Food is similar to Ethiopian cuisine. Tensions have been high between Ethiopia and Eritrea since the 1900s.
Eritrea is historically a trade center and art is expressed both thru music and crafts. Tsebhi is a speciality stew of the country while kitcha fit-fit is a staple meal, that is spiced and oiled bread served with yogurt and bebere for dip. Drumming is common in many communities. Religion is a mix though most follow the Christian or Muslim faith.
